"Sanctuary" is a documentary that follows the stories of a gay Episcopal priest in Oberlin, Ohio, and a lesbian couple who are parishioners at a progressive United Church of Christ fellowship. The film places their stories next to traditional religious views of homosexuality and same-sex marriage, and challenges viewers to rethink their preconceptions of the intersections between religion and sexuality.
