Brotherly Love (2017): A Gay Catholic Brother Between Vows and Desire
Brotherly Love (2017) follows Brother Vito, a young gay Catholic brother who tries to live his vows while his heart keeps reaching for something warmer than community life. A summer spent in an AIDS residence in Austin, and a slow, tender connection with recently divorced Gabe, force him to ask whether God really wants him lonely or simply honest. It is a quiet, talky queer drama about faith, touch, chosen family and the price of staying small so other people can feel safe.
