Dance film celebrating the choreographer’s work, featuring extracts from many of his ballet adaptations such as The Car Man, in which Bizet’s Carmen is reset in an American garage, and his award-winning version of Swan Lake. Directed by his long-standing collaborator Ross MacGibbon, the piece celebrates Bourne’s power to imaginatively transform classical works, taking dance and dancers off the stage into the studio, bringing together projections, animation and state-of-the-art shooting to produce a distinctive new way of presenting dance on screen.
