A gay married couple, Tommy and Dustin, find their relationship tested when Dustin’s religious family pressures them to baptize their baby, Olivia. This seemingly simple decision forces them to confront their personal beliefs, past traumas, and the meaning of family.

At its core, Sacrament tells the story of a family gathering to celebrate the arrival of baby Olivia, born to gay couple Tommy and Dustin. When Dustin’s mother gifts a baptismal bonnet steeped in family tradition, a rift opens between the couple. Tommy, deeply averse to Christianity after enduring conversion therapy, opposes the baptism, while Dustin feels conflicted, caught between his family’s expectations and his husband’s pain.

Tensions escalate as Dustin’s mother insists on the baptism, claiming it’s an integral family tradition. As the day of the ceremony approaches, secrets unravel, leading to emotional confrontations that test the couple’s bond. The film culminates in a moment of understanding and compromise, reflecting the resilience of love and the complexities of navigating different beliefs within a family.
