Filmmakers David Brind and Adam Salky, who brought you the award-winning, classic short film “Dare,” are back with the sequel. “The Dare Project” is a first of its kind film, combining the original short together with its brand new follow-up, shot 15 years later, from the same cast and creative team.
Starring Adam Fleming and Michael Cassidy, the cast also includes Adam Hagenbuch, West Liang, Rachele Schanke, and Justin Cone.
In Part 1, high school senior Ben secretly lusts after bad boy classmate Johnny. After Ben gives Johnny a ride home one night, the boys end up in Johnny’s swimming pool and have an encounter that breaks the rules and blows Ben’s mind…
Then in Part 2, Ben and Johnny accidentally meet again as grown men, for the first time since high school. Set in Los Angeles, this sexy new chapter to the story will surprise you, provoke you, maybe make you feel a little uncomfortable, and definitely take you into some new terrain.
The original “Dare” short screened at over 50 festivals globally, was distributed by Strand Releasing, and has been viewed online over 13 million times online, making it one of the most viewed LGBTQ short films in history. Its fan-demanded follow-up “The Dare Project” premiered at Frameline in San Francisco, screened in a special presentation at Outfest, and played at over a dozen other festivals around the world.
