This video is not available. If you find this film on youtube or vimeo please contact me.

‘Two Men’ – by young Chinese director, Zhao Yuanhao, with choreography by Yang Shao and an original score by Gao Xin. A live dance performance will follow, as well as a Q&A session where you can meet the Director, Assistant Director and members of the cast.

This promises to be a truly magical evening, as POP-UP BEIJING is taken over for one memorable night of glorious story-telling and dance. Don’t miss it!

The film tells a story from an all-male society – two young men fall in love with each other, but as their relationship becomes deeper, they draw more attention to themselves.

Their “unspeakable love” is surrounded by challenges and accusations – attacked and crushed under the pressure of society. However, although the needs of the few seem unreasonable to the masses, hope remains, love remains, and the passion to honour one’s true self fights on.

As an award-winning experimental movie, the narrative technique is quite different from traditional filmmaking. The story is confined to a fixed stage, rather than told through real-life. Through pure gesture and dance, and with no dialogue, actors subtly yet clearly tell the whole story.

The film-writer and director, Mr Zhao Yuanhao, and assistant director Ms Liu Yiyi will be present with cast members. A special dance performance will take place, and a Q&A session will be held, offering the wonderful opportunity to see the performers in action, and to talk to them about their work.
