As for many, this will be a different Christmas for us. My parents came to visit us in November because we will be spending the holidays by ourselves this year so I was thankful I got to see them last month. In 36 years, I won’t be going home to spend Christmas with the family so Bernardo and I will spending the holidays be ourselves. We don’t get much time with our families so we took full advantage of them being in Oregon and we were also able to share with them what I had learned during my two months of treatment. We then transition to the month of December where we start decorating our new home for Christmas. #husbands #adifferentchristmas #gaycouple

Follow along as we take steps in other countries as two foreigners, Bernardo (Brazilian) and Adam (American). We are travelers, friends, husbands, foreigners, adventurers who fell in love in Brazil and took the big leap and quit their jobs to travel the world. We are a gay couple who had the goal for over a year to travel the world and learn as much as we can before we settled down in a permanent home. We normally like to live our lives in a routine, but that wasn’t possible. In 2020, as most people, our lives changed. While traveling in 2020, Adam realized he was starting to get into a place where he had no been before. Before COVID hit, we packed up our stuff and went back to Portland, Oregon where we felt safe. Adam quickly found a psychiatrist, whom he adores dearly, and realized his addiction to cannabis and alcohol were starting to control his life. With the guidance of his psychiatrist and Bernardo, he thought it would be best to check himself into a rehab facility in California where he spent 2 months there learning about himself. Bernardo stayed true to his wedding vows and remained strong for Adam but was also dealing with his struggles as well. Creating these videos has been a wonderful way for us to share our emotions with the help of our camera and editing.
