Finally – an upload of my 2000 gay short film, “Birthday Time,” about a closeted teenage boy who is determined to get his first gay kiss by his 18th birthday… which is just a few days away. Be sure to watch the credits as well for a wayyy pre-Marvel stinger!
The short played over 40 film festivals, aired on Sundance Channel for a couple of years, and was released on the DVD “Two Brothers And Two Others” by TLA. The rights reverted back to me some years ago, and the DVD is long out of print, so enjoy this pre-HD, relatively low-fi video (shot on miniDV tape) coming-of-age comedy. Thanks again to John and Frank Navin of The Aluminum Group for the songs, and every member of the cast, crew, and locations (mostly in Park Slope, Brooklyn) who slaved away on this and helped out.
