A young man agrees to support his ex lover during an HIV test. What starts out as an awkward reunion, soon becomes something more tender. Is there still hope for reconciliation?
When two friends, formerly boyfriends, share a scary moment together, they create a beautiful depiction of how relationships evolve.
The film's delicacy lies in its basic virtue—the dialogue, gestures, and looks. It weaves an old love story, preserving memories, sensitivity, and the desire for a new beginning. The fear of a predictable diagnosis, the gentle support for an ex-lover—these emotions are beautifully translated on screen. "Buddy" is not just about the story; it's about the inspired science of conveying emotions. The tension, the need to help, the expectation—all captured in an impressive film that forms a perfect circle from start to finish.
