Cognitio (2018)
I thought it was a gay film, but I was surprised. Great film!
The idea for the film came to me when Lasse (playing Tobias) and I met for a cup of coffee in the fall of 2015. I had just finished high school and was about to begin my 3rd year in anxiety- and depression therapy. Lasse was about to go to a 3 month acting course, and told me about the monologue he was going to work with. It was from a play about an autistic teenage boy, who tried to solve the mystery of his dead dog. I had seen the play myself, and even though autism and anxiety/depression isn’t the same thing, I remember that I could relate to the subject – being young, suffering from a mental disorder that other people don’t understand, or don’t want to understand.
Lasse told me that he had always wanted to play a character with a mental disorder, and I had always wanted to make said movie – a movie about me, and the struggles of living with a mental illness.
