Must Be the Music

Must Be the Music (1996) – short film by Nickolas Perry

A story that reminds us what it’s like to be young and in love, or at least lust. The film is well acted, and the plot is realistic, but the ending is somehow unsatisfying. On it’s own it’s a nice piece of light cinema, but seeing it along with the other shorts in a boy’s life 2, it made a very nice addition.

The story, is told in the form of a succession of ritual-like murders, comes to life through the letters he writes to his sometime lover and best friend Julian and the object of his desire, Julian’s younger brother, Kevin.
