Flamingo Pride, a delightful animated short film directed by Tomer Eshed, tells the whimsical tale of a straight flamingo who finds himself in a gay flock. Frustrated by his unique orientation, our hero falls head over wings for a lady stork who gracefully glides by. However, convincing her of his serious intentions proves to be a challenge, leading him to endure an identity crisis and isolation.
But fear not! An intensive encounter inspires our feathered protagonist to make a bold move. The film beautifully explores themes of love, acceptance, and self-discovery, all set against a vibrant backdrop of colorful plumage.
Flamingo Pride has garnered acclaim and won several awards, including the “Best Student Project” at SIGGRAPH Hamburg and the “Audience Award” at the Kurzfilmfestival Hamburg. It has been showcased at festivals like Encounters Short Film Festival in Bristol and DOK Int. Festival Animations- und Dokumentarfilm in Leipzig..
