You know those summer afternoons where everything feels possible and time just slows down? This film captures that exact feeling of a connection that is as bright and temporary as a summer rain.
D'or et de pluie
There is something about summer shorts that just works. This film is exactly that - a sun-drenched story about a connection between two guys that feels incredibly real. It does not need a complicated plot because the atmosphere does all the heavy lifting. You can almost feel the heat and the tension between them as the day unfolds.
The actors have this very natural way of being on screen. They do not look like they are performing for a camera; it feels like you are just eavesdropping on a private, intimate moment. The cinematography is stunning, with lots of warm, golden light that makes the whole thing feel like a nostalgic memory. The actors are very likable and you can tell they really "get" the vibe the director was going for.
Even though it is short, it leaves a lasting impression. It is the kind of film that makes you nostalgic for those long summer afternoons where time seems to stop. The director clearly knows how to capture those tiny looks and touches that say more than any dialogue ever could. If you like films that focus on mood and small gestures rather than big dramatic twists, you will definitely enjoy this one.
A stoner psychic who talks to the dead gets roped into helping a murdered, closeted cop find a serial killer targeting gay men. When the mystery points straight to his own deranged family, things get hilariously messy and bizarrely touching.
