Written and Directed by Carmen Vincent

It’s a beautiful thing in life when people discover who they are, but it’s not always easy to be comfortable and love yourself for that unique identity. I wanted to do a video about the struggles of sexual identity because many incredibly important people in my life have faced this. There are countless ways to be different in our world today, but not everyone is comfortable with differences. I want people to see the beauty in what makes us all unique, and realize through understanding each other that we are a species of breathtaking variety, but we also harbor core similarities that connect each and every one of us. Differences are not worth casting judgement over, they’re not worth tearing others down over, and they’re certainly not worth shedding blood over. How boring would the world be if we were all the same? And how exciting and flourishing would the world be if we all understood and accepted each others’ differences? This is my very first short film and, like human nature, it is flawed, but also like human nature, it has potential to be something incredibly meaningful.
