When a young gay lawyer arrives on Fire Island to explore his sexuality, he becomes witness to a murder after being drugged. A stranger helps him to safety, but he soon discovers his savior is friends with the killer.

“Last Ferry” as being gay-themed film, low-budget, and self-indulgent, and typically only distributed on DVD. Many people were surprised that the British Film Institute chose to premiere the film at their LGBTQ+ festival in 2019.

“Last Ferry” is a thriller film released in 2019, directed by Jaki Bradley and written by Ramon Torres and Henry Bolanos. The film stars Ramon Torres, Sheldon Best, and Myles Clohessy and has a runtime of 86 minutes.

The film follows a man named Joseph (played by Ramon Torres) who takes a ferry to Fire Island, a popular vacation destination off the coast of New York City. However, things take a dark turn when Joseph is drugged and robbed by a group of partygoers, and wakes up the next morning to find that one of them has been murdered. Joseph becomes the prime suspect and must navigate a dangerous web of lies and deceit in order to clear his name and find out what really happened.

“Last Ferry” is a tense and suspenseful film that keeps the audience guessing until the very end. The writing is strong and the story is well-paced, with plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting. The direction is also noteworthy, with a strong visual style that captures the atmosphere of the island and the sense of danger that Joseph is facing.

The performances by the cast are also excellent, particularly Ramon Torres as Joseph. He does an excellent job of portraying a man who is out of his depth and struggling to make sense of what is happening to him. Sheldon Best and Myles Clohessy also give strong performances as two of the partygoers who may have information about the murder.

Overall, “Last Ferry” is a well-made thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It’s a gripping and suspenseful film that explores themes of deception and trust, and the consequences of the choices we make. If you’re a fan of suspenseful thrillers with well-crafted plots and strong performances, then “Last Ferry” is definitely worth watching.
