Nicolai Kornum has been a 1st AD since 2003, working on Feature films, Commercials, Short Films, Music Videos, Live TV and TV-Drama. He is also a London-based published Photographer & Filmmaker who is behind several international multi-award winning Fashion Films, and Music Videos with more than 15 million online views.
Training includes European Film College & Soho Editors, and he has a degree in Stage Management & Technical Theatre, including Lighting Design and show calling from London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art. His theatre credits include Production Stage Management and Lighting Designer in London’s Soho and on the fringe of London’s West End.
Nicolai does runway photography during London-, Milan- & Paris fashion week and has served as external lecturer on Fashion Film Production at Coventry University, London, and, in addition, has taught children and young actors in practical film making.
Nicolai has worked with Danish directors Lars von Trier,
Thomas Vinterberg, Niels Arden Oplev & Bille August, and his work has involved Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Aiden Quinn, Kelly Preston, Asa Butterfield, Nicholas Hoult, Andy Serkis, and Claire Danes.
His films have received more than 100 festival award nominations worldwide, and have been awarded more than 38 international film awards including:
